Dr. Jeremiah W. Ray brings a rare blend of rigorous academic training, elite clinical expertise, and embodied athletic experience to the work of understanding and restoring the human body. Across his career, he has sought not just to alleviate pain and injury, but to optimize function, resilience, and joy in movement—whether in professional athletes or everyday bodies striving for vitality.
Jeremiah’s early life as a collegiate soccer player and professional snowboarder shaped his lifelong commitment to movement, performance, and the lived experience of the body. This lived experience fuels his clinical curiosity:
what allows one body to flourish and another to persistently struggle?
Jeremiah’s work sits at the intersection of physiology, tissue-level healing, and nervous-system regulation. His areas of depth include:
Across all of these, Jeremiah prioritizes listening before label-making—asking questions that honor the story of the person in front of him, not just the confines of a diagnosis.
For Jeremiah, healing is never purely mechanical. Movement and sport are expressions of identity, joy, community, and self-efficacy, and effective care honors those dimensions alongside biomechanics and biology.
His work with Embodied MD will focus on integrating evidence-based regenerative techniques with a systems-oriented understanding of the human experience, always calibrated to individual values and life context.
Jeremiah graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine, where he laid the foundation for his medical thinking in both science and human care. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine—a discipline that sharpens clinical judgment and deepens ease with complexity and uncertainty. From there, he pursued advanced fellowship training in:
He has served as Head Team Physician for intercollegiate athletic programs, overseeing the health and performance of hundreds of Division-I athletes, and has worked closely with elite competitors across the NFL, NBA, MLS, MLB, and Olympic arenas.
Jeremiah lives in Southern California with his wife and EmbodiedMD founder, Dr. Annie Ray and their four children. He continues to stay active across sport and adventure, embodying the very curiosity and engagement he fosters in the people he works with. You can find him surfing, moving heavy things and barbecuing something delicious on his days off.
