I am a fourth generation physician trained in modern medicine at top institutions who came to realize—through my patients and my own body—that our current healthcare system often fails to address the why beneath illness. I chose family medicine training, not because I wasn't qualified for subspecialties, but because I have always deeply believed the way to a happy, whole existence is through understanding our bodies in relation to the people, activities and places we experience.
While contemporary medicine excels in acute care and technological intervention, it frequently leaves little room for context:
how someone lives, what they carry emotionally, how their nervous system has adapted, and what their body is trying to communicate through symptoms.
Embodied MD grew out of years of clinical work, deep study across disciplines, and lived experience navigating health, injury, recovery, and resilience.
My work focuses on:
This site reflects the early chapters of a larger project—including a forthcoming book and future educational and clinical endeavors.
This platform exists independently and reflects my personal views, scholarship, and developing framework.
It is not affiliated with any employer, institution, or healthcare organization. I have no conflicts of interest or investments in any health related entities.
When I'm not thinking deeply about how to create optimal health, you can find me spending time at the beach with my husband (a sports medicine physician) and four children or cooking something delicious at our home. I'll forever be a horse-girl and believe in the healing power of animals and nature.
